Welcome! This is my attempt at an Un-official Martha Wainwright Blog. It's been going for a while now and although there was a need to begin with- Since I first started out, Martha's website and Facebook page have lots more info! This is just a back up now really, but hope it is useful :)

Somebody on her brother's board posted the link to this which is quite interesting: Wink Ball which has little video interviews of people in the crowd including the piano player. (I had tried to work out where I had seen her before and it was indeed as I last guessed at the Nick Drake Concert.

CBC Radio 2’s Great Canadian Song Quest concert was recorded for future broadcast on Tuesday, Dec. 15. All 13 Canadian musical artists, each representing a province or territory performed at Toronto’s Glenn Gould Studio, for an exclusive one-night only concert to celebrate CBC Radio 2’s Great Canadian Song Quest.

Belting out new works for Canada’s song book were Oh Susanna, Jay Sparrow, The Deep Dark Woods, Chantal Kreviazuk, Hawksley Workman, Martha Wainwright, David Myles, Joel Plaskett, Catherine MacLellan, Hey Rosetta!, Kim Barlow, Dana Sipos and Lucie Idlout.

The Great Canadian Song Quest Concert airs in its entirety:
• Thursday, Jan. 21 on CANADA LIVE at 7 p.m. (7:30 NT) on CBC Radio 2
• Friday, Jan. 22 via webcast at www.cbc.ca/songquest
• Friday, Jan. 22 as a CONCERT ON DEMAND at www.cbc.ca/radio2/cod
• Friday, Jan. 22 and 29 on CANADA LIVE at 2 p.m. (2:30 NT) on CBC Radio One
• Monday, Jan. 25 on CBC Television’s digital channel, bold at 9 p.m.

With performance highlights airing:
• Jan. 11 to 21 on RADIO 2 MORNING and RADIO 2 DRIVE on CBC Radio 2

The Great Canadian Song Quest album is also available for purchase on iTunes.

Feel free to correct me as I may not have read it all properly, but just not sure what Martha's involvement will be as she was in London in December... maybe she recorded it here to be sent over.... but sure we will find out...
